Last week of school! Today I asked Trale why he was so quiet. He said, I don't know. I don't have anything to say. So I started singing to him and replacing words with Trale. You know the really old song "Big Bad John" by Jimmy Dean? Now it is "Big Bad Trale" BIG TRAAAAALE... Big Bad Trale.

Winter over
Looks like winter is close to being over and me and Trale can start walking to school again. It was in the 50's this morning, so we got a little walk in today.
Trale's birthday party is coming up this weekend and he is super excited. He's even more excited now that his cousin's Skye and Summer are coming too along with Grannie and Paw Paw. It's a dinosaur theme, so Trale talked about Dinosaurs ...and how excited that his cousins were coming (again!)
Looking forward to a nice spring so I can shed a few winter pounds from not walking Trale to school everyday.

It was 28 degrees yesterday morning, so we drove to school. The temperatures have been going up and down a lot lately. This morning it was a balmy 42. A tree caught Trale's eye this morning on the way to school.... "Ohhhh! how pretty!" Trale said. Many trees in the Shreveport area are beautiful right now.
We got a chance to play Lego Batman last night at Target. As you might know, Trale is a huge Lego Star Wars fan. Trale got to talking about how cool the Lego Batman game was which led him to talk about Lego Star Wars again.

Trale is really reading well now.... and now Trale's got jokes! "Why didn't the Skeleton cross the road? Because he didn't have the guts!"
There were a handful of jokes in a McDonalds booklet he got in the happy meal. He read them to me on the way to school this morning.
When we got close to school, an SUV slows down to turn in, and a little girl rolls down the window and says "Hi Trale!" He says that's one of his girlfriends... apparently he has two.

It is starting to be a chilly walk to school as winter gets closer. All the leaves are falling off trees. Trale noticed this leaf on the side walk. "Look at that big leaf Daddy!"

Trale was very aware of the presidential election last night... especially since Daddy was so obsessed with the election coverage on TV.
It was the first thing that Trale asked about today. "Who won the President?"
After I revealed who won the election, Trale said that HE wanted to be the President!
I said you can do anything you want to in this world. It needs good people like you.
Trale said after he was president he'd go back to being a scientist.
